Sandra Padilla (1963–2024)

Sandra Padilla, 60, passed away from cancer on January 17, 2024. She was a beloved sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.

She was born on January 29, 1963 in New York. She lived in an assisted living facility in Queens for most of her life with those who had similar mental disabilities.

Sandra was incredibly smart, loving, and understanding. She loved spending time and shopping with her sisters and her roommates, especially at the dollar store. She loved to smile, laugh, watch cartoons, and drink soda. If you spoke to her for a few minutes, it was clear that those were some of her favorite things in this world.

She was and will always be our shining star. We are so grateful for our time with her and are comforted to know that she is eternally reunited with her parents, Evelyn Sanchez and Miguel Padilla. Sandra missed her mother dearly and is now in her loving hands.

Sandra Padilla is survived by her four sisters, Aracelis LaDisa, Janet Rivera, Iriada Padilla, and Zaida Padilla, along with her many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on January 20, 2024 at Meléndez Funeral Home, 30 Grove Street, Middletown, NY 10940, from 12:00–3:00 PM. Burial was held at 3:00 PM at Hillside Cemetery in Middletown, NY.
