Jose R. Gonzalez (1977–2022)

Jose R. Gonzalez, known as Cheo, age 45, was a loving son, a loving brother, and adoring partner to Geraldine Croci. Jose passed away on January 2nd, 2022. He was born on May 31st, 1977 in Middletown, NY and grew up surrounded by his large family; he had 3 siblings. Jose had a lot of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who he loved dearly. Jose was influenced by his family to be a loving and caring man, always giving his time to others, and he incorporated that into his everyday life. He was working at Jay's Auto Body in Middletown, and in his free time he loved to work on cars, go fishing, and be with his family as often as possible. He will be greatly missed by his family.

Death leaves a heartache that nobody can heal, but love leaves memories that nobody can steal. Goodbye to a wonderful man.

Jose is survived by his mother Santa Monserrate Barbosa, his father Hector M. Gonzalez Sr., and his many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A service for those who wished to say their last goodbye to Jose was held on Saturday, January 7th at 1 PM at Meléndez Funeral Home, 30 Grove Street, Middletown, NY 10940.
