Jacquelyn Sandra Kiernan (1949–2024)

Jacquelyn "Jackie" Kiernan, after a very long illness, went home to be with her mother, father and siblings in Heaven on February 9, 2024 at 1:45 PM, at the age of 74.

Jacquelyn was born February 11, 1949 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to her loving parents Raymond Ray Thorpe and Lois Delaney Harris Thorpe. Mom was the youngest of three siblings: Alice, Barbara "Bobbie" LaRocca, and Sonny Thorpe. Her parents moved to Natchez, Mississippi, where her father was a riverboat captain on the Mississippi River. Mom grew up in the house that her father had built for his family. Mom has two children from her first marriage, Stacey Ann "Jacobson" Jung and Carl Raymond Jacobson, and a grandson, Kyle Louis Jung, born to Stacey A. Jung and John A. Jung.

While living in Plattsburgh, New York she met her husband Eugene Kiernan, to whom she was married for over 39 years. They have one child together, Erin Ann Wilson. Erin is married to Brian Wilson; they have one child, granddaughter Katie Ann Wilson.

Jackie was a loving mother and did everything she could to provide a good, loving home for her children. Mom worked hard in her life to provide for her family until her health issues were too much to bear. Mom loved being a grandmother and devoted her time and efforts to helping raise her beautiful granddaughter Katie Ann Wilson. Mom always wanted to make birthdays and holidays special.

Jackie is survived by her immediate family: her husband Eugene, daughter Stacey, son Raymond, daughter Erin, granddaughter Katie and grandson Kyle; two nieces and one nephew in New Orleans, Louisiana; and her Aunt Carolyn from the Thorpe side of the family in Natchez, Mississippi.

Mom will truly be missed by all that love her. She is in a much better place and will never be far from our thoughts and will always be in our prayers. We love you, Mom. Be at peace.

A memorial service was held at Meléndez Funeral Home LLC, 30 Grove St., Middletown, NY 10940 on Sunday, February 18 from 12 PM to 2 PM.
