Ernestine Grant Cannion (1940–2024)

Ernestine Grant Cannion, 83, passed away peacefully on 11 February 2024 at home with her daughter in Middletown, NY.

Ernestine was born on 27 August 1940 to Ernest and Rose Harrell. She attended school and lived all her life in the state of New York. She became a Mental Assistant Therapy Aide, displaying an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way, retiring in the 1990's. Ernestine truly lived life to the fullest. She gave birth to 4 beautiful children and stayed close to them throughout their lives. She is survived by her brother, Steven Harrell; her daughters, Tanya and Vanessa; sons, Perry and Kevin; 22 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as family friends. Ernestine will always be known for her kindness. She enjoyed having her family and friends close and the love they shared for life. She will truly be missed.

Her funeral services were held on Monday, 19 February, 12 PM to 3 PM at Meléndez Funeral Home, LLC, 30 Grove Street, Middletown, NY 10940, followed by her interment at Hillside Cemetery, 50 Mulberry Street, Middletown, NY 10940.
