Dorothea (Dory) Hoskin (1930–2025)
of Middletown, NY

Dorothea (Dory) Hoskin was born on October 8, 1930 in San Francisco, California to David and Hedwig House. Dory lived in California and Utah. She married DeVerl (Rex) Hoskin on her 17th birthday, October 8, 1947, in the state of Utah. She became one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1953 and was still faithful on her death on March 24, 2025. She loved sharing her Bible-based hope with others, both in person and through letters.
Together Dory and Rex had 6 children: Linda, Patricia, Judith, Ronald, Cheryl, and Darlene, and came to have numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Over the years she made hand-made quilts and even clothes and pajamas for her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and loved playing Scrabble. Dory's favorite song was "That's My Desire" by Frankie Laine.
She lived for the past 8 years in Middletown Park Rehab facility in NY. There she loved receiving visits from many family members as well as friends from her local congregation.
Although Dory will be dearly missed, she had full faith that in the near future she would be reunited on a Paradise earth with all her loved ones.
